Dear Alex, Cambridge CELTA is a good qualification for Russia. It is recognised in all the schools which employ native speakers. Judging by the information you give about yourself, you are a native speaker. Cambridge does not require higher education; the requirement is to “be at the level which allows you to enter a higher educational institution in your country”, and it is left up to the Centre to decide whether you are sufficiently qualified. Unfortunately, GCSE does not give you the right to apply for entrance a university. Are you in a position to take “A” levels? When you are eligible to apply to an institute of higher education you will be eligible for the CELTA. But you should know that according to the Cambridge rules course tutors check candidates’ knowledge and abilities. The special enrolment procedure includes written work with screening exercises: grammar, lexis, phonology and methodology, and an interview.
If you manage all this and get a CELTA qualification you will be in a position to find work in Russia.
