I'm sorry. I should have made it more clear. I wasn't talking about those who go on becoming English teachers in another country. Rather someone moving to another country and then forgetting his native language over time. Especially from a young age.

That's the only reason I feel that just being a native speaker shouldn't mean you're better qualified for the job than a non-native with a CELTA certificate. And again just a thought. Is it fair to have someone who moved to a country at a young age and over time learned to speak just as fluent as a native speaker not get the job because English wasn't his or her first language? What if he or she forgot his or her native language, or is just as fluent in both.

So I'd have to shake my head at some of these requirements. (Again excuse me for the mix up)
